ASHRAE BC is proud to welcome Dr. Stephanie Taylor to our February Meeting. Dr. Taylor is a MD from University of Harvard. After decades of practicing medicine and research she went back to school to receive a master’s degree in Architecture from Norwich University, Vermont. In 2020, she founded Building4Health, Inc. This company’s mission is to make visible indoor factors that affect building occupant health, thereby revealing strategies for buildings to prioritize the most valuable asset, the occupant. Dr. Taylor has published in Nature, Science, and other peer reviewed journals, is a Distinguished Lecturer for ASHRAE and a columnist for Engineered Systems magazine. She received the, "Women to Watch in the HVAC Industry" award in 2019. She is a member of the ASHRAE Environmental Health Committee, the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force and Harvard Medical School’s Incite Health Fellowship.
In our February webinar, Dr. Taylor will present studies on building interventions that have dramatically improved the health of human occupants while decreasing the threat of microbial pathogens such as COVID-19. Proper building monitoring and management is the key to protecting the health of occupants, both now and once this pandemic has passed. This webinar is a step to bridge the divide between medical and building professionals. Together, we can harness the power of the indoor environment to keep us safe and healthy during COVID-19 and beyond.
