The Richmond Ice Centre (RIC) has six (6) NHL-size rinks (200′ x 85′) composed of two sand floors and four concrete floors. The Refrigeration system was upgraded in 2014 to replace the Shell and Tube Brine chillers with Dual Circuit Plate and Frame chillers, resulting in a significant reduction in Ammonia Charge as well as an improvement to the system efficiency. The upgrade was completed while four ice rinks were still operational, leaving only a 36 hour window for the changeover.
Eric Bradley from Bradley Refrigeration will be giving a brief summary of the chiller upgrade project and its challenges, followed by a tour of the compressor rooms.
Registration, Social Hour and Dinner will be held at Stanley's Grill on the 2nd floor of the Richmond Ice Centre.
Please register for the meeting using the ASHRAE BC Chapter’s web portal, which makes it simple for you to register and prepay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard).
All participants must pre-register; walk-ins will not be accommodated.
