ASHRAE BC welcomes Farbod Ghanouni and Graeme Garvin of BKL Consultants to our April meeting. Their presentation includes

an overview of acoustical challenges and solutions associated with MEP equipment within buildings. A brief summary of the theory of sound propogation will be presented for interior mechanical noise emmissions from exterior mounted equipment. Case studies of acoustical design solutions will be presented. Generally acceptable design guidelines for noise related to MEP equipment will be discussed.

Graeme is a P.Eng. working in the field for over 12 years. Experienced in environmental noise modelling and noise impact assessments for stadiums, condos, schools and hospitals. He has extensive experience in large scale HVAC system noise calculations and design solutions.Farbod has been practising since 2019. He has experience assessing mechanical equipment within buildings and the community. Written several technical papers on acoustic science, and is an ASHRAE member.
